201 Shareholders have used over 20,000 gallons during the month of July. Penalty is being imposed.

 Nearly one third of the LPC shareholders used more than their allotted amount.  During the May 2026 meeting, Shareholders were informed of the extreme drought situation the state was in and that a penalty may need to be imposed to enforce conservation efforts.  The system cannot sustain the excessive water usage that is being consumed by shareholders.  For the month of July, all shareholders who used over 40,000 gallons, which is double the entitlement, will be assessed a $100 penalty.  Sixty-one shareholders used in excess of 40,000 gallons; several used over 100,000 gallons.   For the month of August, the penalty will increase to $500 for all shareholders who use over 40,000 gallons during the month.  This is in addition to the current rate you are being charged.  LPC has recently experienced the North Fork Tank draining, and the Smith Well is experiencing electrical problems due to the extreme heat.  Your efforts with conservation ar...
