Water Shut off necessary to repair a break in the main line on 4100 North

The main line on 4100 North has broken.  This will require shutting off the water supply for all lines east of Liberty Park.  Maintenance workers will be working on this first thing in the morning when it's light enough to determine which line is broken.  Two lines run along this section of the system.  Updates will be posted as repairs begin.

Keep your Fire Hydrants clear from snow

Please check for Fire Hydrants within your vicinity and clear the snow from the Hydrant.  Fire Hydrants are maintained by LPC, however, everyone is responsible to help maintain good access to them .  Each resident may not always have a hydrant on their property but any hydrant in the vicinity of a home could be used as a water supply in the event of a fire.  Clearing snow around fire hydrants keeps them visible and accessible, saving valuable time in the event of a fire.  In order for firefighters to quickly and easily utilize a fire hydrant, a 3-foot radius surrounding the hydrant needs to be completely cleared of snow.  If a hydrant is covered, the firefighters need to clear it themselves and the delay that this causes could mean additional property damage, injuries or even lives lost.
